How is everyone doing? I would say that we are surviving just fine. I'm excited that we can keep in touch in one central location. I hope this really catches on with everyone. Well let me tell you a little about what is going on with my little ones. Erica moved out recently after thinking that it was unfair to say she couldn't spend the night at her boyfriends house even though his parents said that it would be okay. She is now living with her mom again. Which of course prompted Monica to move out of her moms house and move in with a friend (they love eachother but can't stand being near eachother for too long). It is hard to believe that they are 19 now. Neither one of the girls has any plans for school or otherwise. Erica is still working on graduating from highschool since her math kept her from completing school (another story). Gary moved in to our house in August. He is attending the local highschool in his junior year. He brought home two "f's" however and is currently on restriction (grounded). Once he brings his grades up we can hopefully work on getting his driver's lisence. He is on the wrestling team (not for long though if his grades don't rock our world). Alex is learning to read now. We finally got him into speech therapy after two years of trying. He has had difficulty with sounds that are made at the front of his mouth ever since he ran into a countertop and broke his already fragile front teeth. He was born with weak enamel, doctor said it was a hereditary trait (obviously Sean's :). Ethan has grown so quickly. He is almost 10 pounds! Quite a difference from the 1lb 14 ounces at birth. The doctor describes his growth as a "growth up" instead of a "growth curve". Sean decided to start his own business as a general handyman, which surprisingly makes real good money. He mostly works for apartment owners. For myself, I am still working as a nurse, yeah!? It has been by far the most stressful job I have ever had in my life. We work with a lot of chronically ill people. To make it fun we also get all the overflow of psych patients, alcoholics and drug addicts in withdrawal. We are also known for having the most HIV/AIDS patients than any other unit in the hospital. It has been especially stressful since having Ethan, knowing what I'm exposed to on a daily basis (tuberculosis, meningitis, hepatitis, etc {insert something that could kill you}). I must have some potential however because they keep putting me in charge of our floor (not as fun as you'd imagine). This year has made me all the more homesick. Believe me, we will be coming in the summer 2008. Anywho, I've blabbed enough. Love y'all,
Carrie
